Key DECISIONS and ACTIONS from the Hockey Club Committee Meet 1 Feb

Eddie Robinson – the committee reflected on the sad death of Eddie Robinson a member of DHC for many years as a player, umpire and supporter. He was a man of some distinction. A minutes silence was held before home and away games on the 6 Feb.

Membership – Outstanding annual membership payments are being pursued with individual players. If you haven’t paid please do so now. If you know of anybody who hasn’t paid suggest that they do. Non payers can always be removed from selection. The club AGM will be held on Sunday the 6 May at 1600.

New Kit and Club Logo – Following on from the committee’s approval of a new logo for the club, a sub group met in January to agree the timetable for a new set of playing kit for the 2016/17 season. The first step will be to invite 5 suppliers to demonstrate their new kit proposals at the club between the 4 – 12 March. Having chosen the supplier a full range of products will be finalized before orders are placed to ensure delivery before the start of next season.

Umpires – We are still short of qualified umpires. Please sign up to the level 1 umpiring course which has now been moved to Sunday the 21 Feb at the club.

Club Ball – the annual ball will be held at the club on Saturday the 9 April. Sian Howatson and her helpers will be moving into gear to organize the event. A cocktail bar will be featured along with a sports auction that Kirk Bellerby has volunteered to run. Tickets will be £35.

Junior Presentation Evening – will be held in the same marquee at the club on Friday the 8 April.

Pitch Floodlights – Work was completed on Monday the 11 Jan with a massive improvement in illumination being achieved. A new floodlight certificate will be obtained

Club Roles and Structure
The review of paid roles continues with monthly performance reviews being held for paid hockey club roles.
