Key DECISIONS and ACTIONS from the Hockey Club Committee Meet 4 Jan

New Kit and Club Logo – Following on from the committee’s approval of a new logo for the club, a sub group will meet in January to consider a new set of playing kit for the 2016/17 season. The new logo can be seen on the Sports Club sign at the entrance to the club and on Mens and ladies 1st team tracksuits.

Umpires – We are still short of qualified umpires. Please sign up to the level 1 umpiring course which has now been moved to Sunday the 21 Feb at the club.

Membership – A list of outstanding annual membership payments is being drawn up. If you haven’t paid or know of anybody who hasn’t paid please do so now. Non payers will be removed from selection.

Pitch Floodlights – The committee can confirm that work on the floodlights will start in the week commencing the 4 Jan and last up to 5 days. It is hoped to keep evening sessions on throughout the work. Daytime sessions will be stopped for safety reasons.

In the event Monday the 4 Jan evening session was lost but the pitch was pened for all other business during the rest of the week. Work was completed on Monday the 11 Jan with a massive improvement in illumination being achieved. A new floodlight certificate will be obtained. Any ideas for selling / getting rid of the old lights would be welcomed.

Club Ball – the committee decided to hire a marquee to hold the annual ball at the club on Saturday the 9 April. Sian Howatson and her helpers will be moving into gear to organize the event. A cocktail bar will be featured along with a sports auction which Kirk Bellerby has volunteered to run.

Junior Presentation Evening – will be held in the same marquee at the club on Friday the 8 April
