Committee Decisions 23 of 29

23. Committee Newsletter March 2016

Key DECISIONS and ACTIONS from the Hockey Club Committee Meet 7 March

Membership – Outstanding annual membership payments are being pursued with individual players. If you know of anybody who hasn’t paid tell them to do so now. Non payers will be removed from selection for the start of next season. Further sanctions will be proposed at the next AGM.

AGM – The club AGM will be held on Sunday the 6 May at 1600. A great deal of work is being done by Lindsey, Matt and others to gain a full understanding of our financial position and put in place systems that will give us better financial control and ability to plan into the future. This work is essential for the club to move forward and will be reported at the AGM.

New Kit and Club Logo – Following on from the committee’s approval of a new logo for the club, a range of new kit styles from four potential suppliers will be on show at the club the weekend of 12 March. Come a long and make your choice for the preferred supplier. Having chosen the supplier a full range of products will be finalized before orders are placed to ensure delivery before the start of next season.

Club Ball – the annual ball will be held at the club on Saturday the 9 April. Sian Howatson and Elaine Thorpe have moved into gear to organize the event. A cocktail bar will be featured along with a sports auction that Kirk Bellerby has volunteered to run. Get your tickets now for £35 from Sian or Elaine. The committee agreed for year 11 players to attend if accompanied by a parent.

Junior Presentation Evening – will be held in the same marquee at the club on Friday the 8 April. All the preparations are well under.

Umpires – We will always need more umpires. The level 1 umpiring course held on Sunday the 21 Feb at the club was a great success. A further course is planned for September. More details will follow nearer the time.

Club Roles and Structure
The review of paid roles continues with monthly performance reviews being held for paid hockey club roles. Key decisions will be made during the closed season in preparation for the 2016/17 campaign.
