League Context
• Doncaster: Guaranteed top three finish
• Final Position: Could finish 2nd or 3rd depending on results elsewhere
Doncaster head into their final game of the season this weekend as they host Leeds 2s at home. With a top-three finish already secured, the final league position will depend on both Doncaster’s result and the outcome of Stokesley’s final match. A win for Doncaster combined with dropped points for Stokesley could see Doncaster finish second in the table.
Regardless of the final standings, it has been an incredible season for the side. The year has seen a number of juniors make their debuts, stepping up and proving themselves at first-team level, while several of the senior players have delivered consistently strong performances throughout the campaign.
Leadership has also been a key strength this season. Jay has led superbly as captain, while Lucy has been outstanding as vice-captain, driving standards on and off the pitch.
Doncaster will be aiming to finish the season strongly with a win, before turning their focus to building for next year’s campaign, where the aim will once again be to push for promotion back to the National League.
Players to Watch
• Abby, Scarlett, Bella & Annabelle — four of the standout juniors this season who have impressed with their confidence, energy, and performances.
A strong finish in front of the home crowd would be the perfect way to round off what has been a memorable season for Doncaster.
Pushback is at 3:00pm — come down and support if you can!
Doncaster M1 v Leeds

Date: Sunday, 14:00

The final home game of the season has rolled around and we welcome fellow Yorkshire side and title-chasers Leeds HC to Town Fields - big welcome to all associated with the club, in particular former Doncaster player, Carl Smith.
As has been tradition over the last few seasons, the last home game of the year has served as a former player’s dinner to support the Andy Gibson Foundation. A massive welcome back to DHC to the men who’ve worn the famous shirt and made the club what it is today.
While there has been some frustrating moments this season, the good has outweighed the bad. Disappointing trips to Ben Rhydding, Oxton & Sheffield have been outweighed by incredible performances at Lindum, Durham University and of course here at Town Fields under the lights on Saturday evenings.
Whilst you always want to be a few places higher in the table, I don’t think there’s too many hard luck stories and the lads have worked incredibly hard since mid-July to hold their own in what is a remarkably competitive division.
This weekend though is about something bigger than winning and losing hockey matches. It’s about old friends catching up, being part of our fantastic community and celebrating the work the Andy Gibson Foundation has done and will continue to do.
Young people across the North of England and beyond have started playing our wonderful game, been given opportunities to further their coaching & officiating and been given financial support to chase international dreams. That, to me, means more than any amount of goals or trophies could.
Thank you all for your support - it really does mean the world to me and the team
