L2
Doncaster L2 v Alford & District
2 : 1

It was a fiery encounter for Doncaster Ladies 2s against Alford & District, with plenty of intensity and determination from the first whistle.
Alford & District got off to the perfect start, winning a short corner and converting inside the opening five minutes to take an early lead. The game remained fiercely contested, with both sides battling hard for every ball.
However, we came out for the second half with a completely different level of energy and intent. We hit them hard from the restart, putting them under pressure and taking control of the game.
The breakthrough came from B. Maxfield, who finished off a fantastic, well-worked passage of play to get us back on level terms. We didn’t have to wait long for the next goal either, as a brilliant move down the baseline created the perfect opportunity for B. Holgate to tap home and put us ahead!
We continued to push, and the ball found the back of the net twice more, only for both goals to be ruled out. Despite the frustration, the team showed real fight, determination and togetherness throughout the match.
A huge effort from everyone, with a particularly strong second-half performance showing exactly what this team is capable of.
