SUBHC v Doncaster L1
1 : 0
A frustrating afternoon for Doncaster, who suffered a narrow 1–0 defeat away at Sheffield Bankers, despite creating numerous opportunities throughout the game.
Doncaster started strongly, controlling much of the first half with an effective press, winning possession high up the pitch and creating chances. However, the finishing touch was missing, and the sides went into half-time level.
Sheffield Bankers responded well in the third quarter, enjoying their best spell of the game and breaking the deadlock with a well-worked penalty corner deflection.
Doncaster pushed hard for an equaliser in the final quarter, creating further opportunities but struggling to find the back of the net. A last-minute penalty corner offered one final chance to rescue a point, but unfortunately the routine broke down.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
Scarlett F — an excellent defensive display, showing real composure and quality at the back.
Beth B — produced a fantastic instinctive foot save, showing brilliant reactions to keep Doncaster in the game.
Despite the disappointment, results elsewhere were favourable, with league leaders Stokesley dropping points in a draw, keeping Doncaster in contention with plenty of hockey still to play.
The focus now turns to Tuesday’s training, where intensity will increase and a renewed emphasis will be placed on goalscoring, circle outcomes and converting opportunities.
There is plenty of quality in this squad, but we need to turn our possession and chances into goals.

City of York 3 Doncaster L2
0 : 3
A fantastic performance from the Ladies 2s saw them secure a well-deserved 3-0 win away at York.
The first half got off to a great start, with S. Dent opening the scoring with a brilliant looping goal. N. Cleland then doubled the lead with a well-executed short corner to give the team a comfortable 2-0 advantage at half-time.
The Ladies continued to push in the second half, with I. Laidlaw rounding off the scoring with a fantastic goal from the baseline to make it 3-0.
A special mention goes to our goalkeeper R. Binnie, who pulled off some absolutely brilliant saves throughout the match to keep a clean sheet and deservedly take home Player of the Match!
A brilliant team performance all round!

Doncaster L3 v Phoenix 2
0 : 1
Doncaster Ladies 3s were left disappointed after a hard-fought Peak Cup clash against Phoenix ended in a narrow 1–0 defeat, despite a determined performance and plenty of chances to get on the scoresheet.
From the first whistle, Doncaster showed great commitment and worked tirelessly to compete across the pitch. The team created several promising opportunities, putting Phoenix under pressure and looking dangerous going forward. Despite some excellent build-up play and plenty of attacking intent, the final touch just wouldn’t come, with Doncaster unable to turn their chances into goals.
At the other end, Phoenix managed to find the breakthrough, scoring the only goal of the game. Doncaster responded with determination, continuing to push for an equaliser and refusing to give up. The team battled hard until the final whistle, creating further opportunities and giving everything in pursuit of a way back into the match.
Unfortunately, the goal that Doncaster’s efforts deserved never came, and the final whistle confirmed a frustrating 1–0 defeat.
Although the result wasn’t what the team had hoped for, there were plenty of positives to take away from the performance. The effort, resilience and chances created showed what Doncaster Ladies 3s are capable of, even if the finishing touch was missing on the day.
A tough one to take in the Peak Cup, but heads up for Doncaster Ladies 3s, who will look to take the positives into their next game!

Doncaster L4 v Dronfield 1
1 : 3
Ladies 4s played top of the league Dronfield this weekend.
After a close game on the pitch, it was disappointing to eventually lose 1 - 3.
Dronfield scored 2 early goals, both good strikes from penalty corners.
However, Doncaster fought hard and managed to pull one back, with a direct strike at a penalty corner, just before half time.
The second half was a close affair with end to end play.
Some really good defending from Izzy B, Eleanor and Sophie keeping an experienced opposition at bay. Anything that did get through was picked up by our young GK, Lilly who had an excellent game.
Izzy W also had a great debut match joining the golden oldies up front. She grew in confidence as the match went on and her young legs were much appreciated!
Dronfield eventually managed to squeeze a final goal in, again from a penalty corner, just before the final whistle.

Doncaster M2 v Stockton 1
6 : 5
The 2s welcomed an unbeaten Stockton 1s this week in what promised to be a feisty affair and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
Stockton struck first, capitalising on a breakaway chance to take an early lead. The 2s weren’t deterred, however, and Benson levelled the score just minutes later with a fantastic backspace strike into the near post.
Benson then doubled his tally for the afternoon with another excellent finish, calmly flicking the ball over the keeper’s right shoulder and into the top corner.
The momentum continued as Hsu got himself on the scoresheet following a brilliant flowing team move, sending the 2s into half-time with a 3-1 lead.
The second half was a completely different story. Stockton fought their way back into the contest and, in dramatic fashion, found themselves 4-3 ahead heading into the final quarter.
The 2s refused to fold. Redders stepped up with a well-executed penalty corner to level the score before Trav calmly converted an unstoppable penalty stroke to put the 2s back in front at 5-4.
With just minutes remaining, however, tragedy struck as Stockton found an equaliser in the 69th minute.
But the game wasn’t over.
With just seconds left on the clock, Redders produced a moment of magic, slicing the Stockton defence in half with a perfectly weighted pass into the D, finding Harris completely unmarked. Harris made no mistake, firing home the last-second winner through the keepers legs.

M4
Chesterfield 2 v Doncaster M4
5 : 1
Doncaster 4s travelled away this week to face a strong Chesterfield 2s side who had dropped down from the league above.
The young Doncaster side started brightly, playing at a high tempo with quick passing and end-to-end hockey. Chesterfield took the lead with two well-taken goals, but Doncaster responded through A Scott to get themselves back into the game.
Doncaster battled hard in the second half, showing plenty of fight and determination. However, injuries and players having to cover unfamiliar positions made life difficult, allowing Chesterfield to take control and eventually run out 5–1 winners.
Despite the result, there were plenty of positives for the young Doncaster side to build on.

Durham Uni 2 v b]Doncaster M1[/b]
4 : 1
Doncaster men’s 1’s travelled to Durham.
Doncaster started off the game strongly dominating possession and creating chances. Despite this Durham uni took the lead through a short corner against the run of play. However quickly after J. stoves equalised from the deflected short corner. Only a minute later Durham score again.
The rest of the game then had a shift in momentum where Durham dominated and didn’t allow Doncaster to get back into the game scoring another 2 in the second half to seal the win.
The men’s 1st team look towards Newcastle at home next Sunday on what should be a good day for the club with both ladies and men’s 1’s playing at home.
