Match Previews

Morpeth v Doncaster L1

Competition: Yorkshire & North East Premier Division
Time : 14:00
Venue: Away (Morpeth)

League Context
• City of York : Top of the table
• Doncaster: Five points behind with three games remaining
Doncaster make the long trip north this weekend as they face Morpeth away in what promises to be another challenging fixture in the closing stages of the season. With City of York currently five points clear at the top, Doncaster know they will need results elsewhere to go their way over the final three games if they are to close the gap.
Travelling to Morpeth is never easy — the long journey and unfamiliar surroundings can always make it a tricky place to play — but Doncaster will still be aiming to return with all three points as they continue to apply pressure at the top of the table.
There is a welcome return to the squad for Beth D, who comes back into the side after a few weeks away due to work commitments. Meanwhile Abby L will be hoping to make her mark in front of goal as Doncaster look to create and convert their chances.
Players to Watch
• Abby L — looking to get on the scoresheet and add to Doncaster’s attacking threat.
• Beth D — returning to the squad and bringing valuable experience back into the side.

Doncaster M1 v Lindum

Competition: National League Conference North
Date: Saturday, 18:30

Venue: Home (Doncaster)

We’re back under the lights this weekend as we welcome Lindum to the JSM in the North
Conference. We’re coming off the back of a great win last Saturday night against Durham, and with another capacity crowd expected at Town Fields, we’re hoping this will be a great advert for the North Conference.
The reverse leg against Lindum was probably one of our best team performances of the season, where we ran out 1-0 winners in a high quality game - in fairness, neither team really deserved to lose that night, with both goalkeepers playing extremely well.
It’s a big test for us against a strong team and the opportunity to do the league double over
Lindum for the first time is a test we’re all looking forward to. A huge weekend for the club with the Men’s 2XI in action before us, who only need a win to cement their status in the league.
Massive good luck lads!
Saturday night games are ones we always look forward to, and having a packed sideline against strong opposition will certainly inspire the lads to go above and beyond. Best of luck everyone this weekend, and we’ll see you Saturday night
