Match Previews

Doncaster L1 v Durham Uni 4

Competition: Yorkshire & North East Premier Division
Time : 16:30
Venue: Home (Doncaster)

League Context
• City of York: Top of the table, with a game in hand that could extend their lead to five points
• Doncaster: 2nd place, chasing hard in the closing stages of the season
• Durham University 4s: Sitting just below Doncaster in the table
Doncaster return to home turf this Saturday for a crucial clash against Durham University 4s as the season moves into its final stretch. With City of York still leading the way — and holding a game in hand that could see them stretch their advantage — Doncaster know every match now carries huge importance.
Durham sit just below Doncaster in the table, so this fixture is not only about chasing York but also about creating distance from the teams beneath them. It promises to be a competitive encounter, but home advantage could prove vital.
The squad is slightly depleted this week, yet there are positive returns. Charlotte is back in the line up, strengthening the side, and Sophie earns her second cap for the 1s after an incredible debut performance last week — scoring on her first appearance at just 13. A remarkable achievement and one to watch closely again this weekend.
Players to Watch
• Charlotte — returning to add experience and composure.
• Sophie — building on a dream debut and full of confidence heading into her second appearance.
With the title race tightening and the season nearing its climax, Doncaster will be determined to defend home ground and keep the pressure firmly on at the top.

Doncaster M1 v Durham Uni 2

Competition: National League Conference North
Date: Saturday, 18:30

Venue: Home (Doncaster)

After a day of attrition at the office last weekend, we’re ready for our next game in the North Conference as we welcome Durham University to Town Fields.
The reverse leg saw us produce one of our best away performances of the season as we ran out 5-0 winners. Durham have picked up considerably since then and currently sit a position below us in the league so we’re expecting another tough game on Saturday night.
We’ve been fairly strong at home so far this season, only losing once so far during the campaign.
While there has been some frustrating moments through the season, there has been
overwhelmingly more good performances than under par ones, especially at home. The
opportunity to play in front of another Super Saturday crowd is one we’re really looking forward to, and hopefully both Men’s & Ladies 1XI can do the double over Durham on Saturday night.
Best of luck to everyone wearing the shirt this weekend - we’ll see most of you on down at the pitch Saturday night!
