Match Previews

Ben Rhydding v Doncaster L1
Competition: Yorkshire & North East Premier Division
Time : 13:30
Venue: Away (Ben Rhydding)

League Context
• Doncaster: 2nd place, two points behind leaders York (who have a game in hand)
• Ben Rhydding 2s: Second bottom in the table
Doncaster return to league action this weekend with a trip to Ben Rhydding 2s, looking to continue their positive run of form following a draw and a win in their last two outings. After a week’s break, the squad should be fresh and ready to push on as the title race tightens.
With York currently sitting top and holding a game in hand, Doncaster know that every point matters. Applying pressure is key, and this fixture presents an important opportunity to keep pace at the summit.
Preparations continue with a big training session on Tuesday led by Travis, focusing on intensity and sharpness ahead of the weekend clash.
Players to Watch
• Lucy — hitting strong form in midfield, controlling tempo and linking play effectively.
• Greta — rediscovering her attacking rhythm and looking increasingly dangerous up front.
If Doncaster impose their style early and stay disciplined, they’ll be confident of returning home with another valuable three points to keep the pressure firmly on York.

Doncaster M1 v Didsbury Northern

Competition: National League Conference North
Date: Sunday, 14:30

Venue: Away (Oxton)

After a week’s break Doncaster are ready to travel to, perhaps our longest away day of the
season, in Oxton HC.
We’re coming off the back of a decent performance and result against Didsbury a couple of
Saturdays ago and make the trip across the M62 full of confidence of going back to back in the North Conference. The reverse fixture saw Oxton go 2 goals in front, but Doncaster score 6 unanswered to put the game beyond doubt. We’ll be looking to carry that same attacking threat whilst tightening up at the back this weekend.
A special mention to T Wheeldon & B Pickles who were victorious over Ireland in an
international series this week for England U18’s. Let’s hope they are fully recovered and ready to travel to Oxton.
Another honourable mention for L Henderson and M Davidson who were
involved in officiating the series.
No game in this division is straight forward, despite how it may look when observing the league table. We’ve prepared properly this week to ensure we come home with the points - that’ll make the 2hr30 drive home a little nicer!
