Doncaster Hockey Club’s Max Davidson has been recognised on the national stage after securing two major honours at the National Programme Umpiring Association (NPUA) Awards, marking one of the most successful seasons of his umpiring career.

Davidson was named to the High Potential Panel – Outdoor Umpire, a prestigious appointment reserved for officials identified as future leaders in the national game. The panel highlights umpires with exceptional decision‑making, game management, and consistency across top‑level domestic fixtures. His elevation reflects a season of strong performances, rapid development, and the respect he has earned from players, coaches, and fellow officials.

In addition to this achievement, Davidson was also awarded Indoor Umpire of the Year, recognising his excellence throughout the national indoor calendar. The award celebrates an umpire who demonstrates outstanding control, clarity, and authority in the fast‑paced indoor format — qualities Davidson has shown week after week.
