Doncaster D1 v Slazengers
0 : 0
A competitive game with some great defending resulting in a clean sheet for Doncaster. Unfortunately we were unable to get the ball in the back of the net but overall a great team performance.
Doncaster D2 v Lindum
1 : 2
Doncaster had the upper hand during the first half which finished 1-0 with some great improvements from the youngsters.
Sadly due to being short on umpires we only had one adult but the juniors rallied and made up for it.
The second half was not as strong for Doncaster and despite a Valliant effort the match finished as a 1-2 loss.

U12BT1 - YYHL
The T1 team at Wakefield started strong with a convincing 2-0 win.
Another win, a draw and 1 loss means we win remain in the league.
Goals from Alvi (4) , Jacob (1) and 2 lovely finishes from Joel Daintree.
Well played boys.
U12G T1 - YYHL
The U12 A team had a mixed start to match day with a shaky opening game against Ben Rhydding. Despite Doncaster dominating much of the play and creating several chances, the girls were unable to find the back of the net and were left frustrated at full time.
Whatever words of wisdom Sam shared after that first game clearly did the trick. From that moment on, the team came back stronger, more focused, and full of confidence. The girls found the net in every remaining game, showing real determination and belief in their ability.
A key highlight of the day was the team’s commitment to playing for each other. The ball was moved well across the pitch, with great passing and teamwork on display, making it difficult for opponents to break down the Doncaster U12s. At the back, Eydie was outstanding, keeping a clean sheet and providing a solid foundation for the team’s attacking play.
Looking ahead to the next step up, the message is clear: keep the ball moving, trust each other, and continue to play as a team. If the girls maintain this level of teamwork and composure, more wins will surely follow.
A fantastic response after a tough start—well done, girls
U12G T2 - YYHL
On a cold dreary day, the under 12s girls B team travelled to Chesterfield.
With no goalkeeper, we had to kindly borrow one off Chesterfield who luckily had brought 2 with them.
The girls began the tournament with a draw, followed by 2 wins. The girls were playing so well together and proved very tough opponents for the other teams. The 4th game ended with an undeserved loss for us, but with the girls fired up and 'up for a fight' drew the next game and then won their final game with flare.
The improvement in this team shows in every tournament they play in.
Thank you also to our girls who helped out the Chesterfield team who had a shortage of outfield players.

Rewind to 23/11/25…
York 5 – Doncaster 1
24/11/25…
The next round of the cup is drawn: York away on 2nd February 2026 !
01/02/26
we set off to York with the girls understandably worried — worried about the game, worried about the last time we played York. An inspirational team talk from Coach Travis before the game had the girls pumped up and ready for revenge.
A very bright start in the first five minutes gave the Doncaster girls the confidence they needed, but unfortunately the first time York ventured into the Doncaster half they won a short corner, which they converted to take a 1–0 lead.
Doncaster then applied huge pressure, forcing the York goalkeeper into some brilliant saves. Bronwyn then picked the ball up just inside the York half and weaved her way past what seemed like the entire York team. Finding herself in the York D, she slid the ball to Louisa who, with calmness and composure, gave Doncaster a well-deserved equaliser!
Half-time
The team talk was simple: “More of the same and we win this.”
Continued Doncaster pressure saw yet more outstanding saves from the York goalkeeper. A series of five Doncaster short corners in a row finally led to the breakthrough, with Quinn finishing beautifully into the bottom corner.
2–1 Doncaster — and nobody could argue it wasn’t deserved.
With eight minutes left on the clock, Bella worked the ball well just inside the York D and hit a sweet reverse-stick strike into the roof of the net — absolute scenes!
3–1 Doncaster
Unfortunately, York managed to pull a goal back with four minutes to go, setting up a nervous finish.
Doncaster fought hard, but with just 20 seconds left disaster struck as York were awarded a controversial short corner. What followed was celebrated more than any goal — a well-worked routine saw the ball heading for the bottom-left corner, only for Laria to produce one of the most incredible goal-line clearances most people have ever seen!!
Today’s game wasn’t about individuals it was about 14 girls with a point to prove, and boy did they prove it.
York 2 Doncaster 3
On to Beeston in the quarter-finals we go!
U16
Doncaster U16G T2 v Preston
1 : 6
This was the fourth round of the England Hockey Cup for the girls. As with previous matches we had plenty of girls turn out which was great to see.
Preston dominated from the outset scoring 2 goals in quick succession. Their pace was quick and they defended in numbers making it hard for the Donny girls to make progress beyond the half way line.
By half time the score was 0:4.
The Donny girls continued to work hard together, giving each other encouragement. The second half they faired better. A good goal was scored following a pass from Abi, final touch from Saffy.
Final score 1:6
Thanks to Ian and Ade for stepping in last minute as umpires to enable to game to take place.
A disappointing outcome for the girls, first defeat of the season but certainly a step up in opposition. Good to see them enjoying match tea together post match, still smiling and chatting. No games until March now when we return with the aim to top our league again.
