Saturday 14th March

Doncaster Dev 1 v Slazengers
2 : 0

Very well done to the Dev team against Slazengers.
We dominated large parts of the game and so many of you put buckets of energy into the match.
Henry with the first goal/cross, and Fin with the 2nd.
Amazing to have another great female role Model in Sarah Deans on the pitch!
Fin = player of the match.
Henry Poppleton = most improved.
Goon of the game….. Kirk of course.
You are all improving so much, keep playing!

Sunday 15th March

Doncaster U12G A

2:0 win against Hull. It took a little while to find the net but Ava took a great shot and got top of the net to secure the confidence of the team. The next goal showing what team work can do. Setting the girls up for a great day….
3:1 win against Rotherham
The girls took a while to warm up making us slightly nervous being down 1:0 but soon got into their stride and managed to secure the 3 for the win
3:0 win against York
The girls went from strength to strength consistently working hard together to secure the win
5:0 win against Harrogate
The girls played the ball around each other, once again showing strength and fantastic team work to secure the win.
A great day girls, lots of laughter and great friendships. Thanks to the parents for the cheers and support.

Doncaster U14G T1 v York
0 : 3

After 2 previous meetings this season with a win for each team, today would come down to which team wanted it more on the pitch. Unfortunately today that was York. There were moments of hope for Doncaster in the match but it ended up being one of those days.
The message is clear we don’t lose, we learn! Plenty of hard work to put in on the training ground and we go again in the remaining two fixtures of the Supra league!

Doncaster U14G T2 v Rotherham
2 : 3

An entertaining game to watch which was end to end and could have gone either way.
With only 1 sub there were some tired legs for Doncaster and unfortunately Rotherham took the win.
On the plus side we saw 2 brilliant goals today for Doncaster, one from Amber and one from Jess. There was also some good passages of play on show throughout the game.
The opposition voted Meghna as player of the match was which was thoroughly deserved. She played in multiple positions and was strong in each of them, this showing that all her hard work in training is paying off!

U14 G Goal keepers:
We are lucky as an age group to have 4 great keepers and today it was good to get to use all 4 of these
T1
Tori made some amazing saves, including a double one and was a great positive voice at the back throughout the game and in her half time team talk!!!
T2
Were in the fortunate position to have two great keepers Hannah and Lily for their game and both girls made some fantastic saves as well as good clearances with their feet.

Chesterfield v Doncaster U14B T2
3 : 5

On Sunday the U14s travelled to Chesterfield to hopefully give their Mums the perfect Mothers Day gift. Unfortunately the morning didn't start well as a couple of players dropped out after Rugby injuries so we only had 10 players.
Doncaster started the match very well, we were controlled and kept the ball, dominating possession. But it was Chesterfield who took the lead following a Short corner. Great hockey by George P and Giles linking up with Felix and Baz on the wings led to several chances.
Eventually Doncaster got the goal they deserved as Alfie made it 1-1, however Chesterfield went straight back up the other end, earnt a short corner that made it 2-1.
Just before half time, more intense pressure from Doncaster made it 2-2 with Felix scoring his first.
After a quick chat at half time telling the lads how awesome they were and that this game was there for the win, the boys started the second half recharged.
The second half started with more Doncaster pressure, but some very interesting umpire decisions led to heads dropping and Chesterfield managed to score their 3rd.
A bit of a reset was needed. Owen pushed a bit further into a defensive Midfield role and this was key. Owen, Tye, Bailey worked tirelessly to support the midfield which led to George P scoring his to level at 3-3. After some great work down the right, Felix crossed for Alfie to score the 4th. In the dying seconds (with the team ignoring the manager to take it into the corner and run the clock down) George ran into the box and squared it to Felix for the 5-3 win. An absolute amazing result as we were playing with 10. There were some tired legs, but they all played as a team and supported each other.
I couldn't have asked for more out of them - I was very proud.
Special mention to Rain who stepped in to play in goal for us, pulling off some great saves and excellent clearances . It was a brilliant effort by everyone.
Thanks also to the parents and mums who came to watch and support on Mothers day.
