Doncaster Dev 1 v Rotherham
0 : 0
Certain adult players weren’t quite at the top of their game today, one was hindered early doors after being 'taken out' by a 12yr old, but thankfully the mighty DHC kids were brilliant.
In the bar after, non dev related senior spectators came across to Emma and me to express how impressed they were at how well the ball was played around the park. One said…. “I’ve watched many of the higher men’s and women’s teams this year and I enjoyed this performance more”.
I agree with them. This was easily one of the best Dev games in a long time as you all wanted to get your heads up and connect passes together.
Ren - Sorry you had so little to do in goal, a clean sheet though hey!
Joseph - Much better today! Some great connecting passes down the right hand side.
Oli H - Getting stronger each week! Keep being more vocal in the middle.
Fin - Well done in chasing the big guy around and not being afraid to get stuck in! Keep attacking that D.
Joshua - Also improving weekly, some really good runs today.
Isabel - Some lovely 1-2’s down the right with the girls, great vision.
Cassie - Your best game to date for me, coming on really well and getting stronger.
Flossy - Great link ups down the right and great pace, keep attacking that D.
Ellena - The best game you’ve had for a while. Great positioning and energy.
Grace - Much better attacking today, again especially against the big guys!, keep moving around and wanting the ball.
Isabella - A good engine again, good work rate, keep driving forward at pace.
Lastly Louisa - In the bar ‘the girl with the pink grip’ got a few really positive mentions, the adult players considered you player of the match today. Well done.
Very very proud to be involved in the development setup this year. Well done all and thanks to the parents for being so supportive
Sunday 1st March
Beeston v Doncaster U14GT1
4 : 2
U14 girls tier 1 travelled to Beeston for the quarter final of the cup.
The girls did themselves and Doncaster proud with a great display in a brilliant performance. They worked tirelessly creating brilliant chances . Unfortunately certain things seemed to be against Doncaster from the outset meaning the game was always going to be a tough game to win. Brilliant goals from Georgie and Bronwyn were not enough as Doncaster lost 4-2.
Games like this are great lessons for the girls on how to deal with different challenges and they can all be proud of their performance and have their heads held high
