Read how our younger players got on this weekend.

Saturday 21st March

Doncaster Dev 1 v Wakefield
1 : 5

Wakefield brought a strong and physically mature side to face a young Doncaster team on a misty Saturday morning.
The visitors started quickly, applying early pressure and creating a number of attacking opportunities in the opening 15 minutes. Their fast start paid off as they took a 2–0 lead. Doncaster gradually grew into the game, settling into their shape and showing good composure on the ball. After some positive movement in and around the D, Grace was well positioned at the back post to pull a goal back just before half-time.
Wakefield began the second half in similar fashion, maintaining their intensity. A strike from the edge of the D, followed by a somewhat unfortunate short corner decision, saw them extend their lead to 4–1. Despite the scoreline, Doncaster continued to battle and showed great determination. Several attacking moves looked promising, but crucial through balls were intercepted before they could find their intended targets.
All Doncaster players gave their all throughout the match. The difference in physical maturity and stamina ultimately showed, with the game finishing 5–1. Nevertheless, the effort, attitude, and willingness to keep working until the final whistle were clear positives.

Lindum v Doncaster Dev 2
3 : 2

Started strong and pressed hard to get the first goal. Lindum responded more or less straightaway and got a goal back. Came through again to make it 2-1 and a goal from a short made it 3-1. Doncaster rallied in the last 10 to come back to 3-2 but time ran out before we could find an equaliser. Good performances from around the pitch and some strong tackling /interceptions and passing.
A good performance but Lindum were just the stronger team this time around.

Sunday 22nd March

Doncaster U10B A - In2Hockey

So….. Two 1-0 losses which could have easily gone our way instead but we just struggled to find the back of the net, a very well fought draw against Adel and a great 5-0 win to round the afternoon off.
All the boys (and Hannah) were fantastic today, they didn’t give up despite the first two losses (and that is all I ask of them), they listened well, played as a team and, hopefully, they all really enjoyed themselves.
Thanks to the parents for driving them all the way to Leeds.

Doncaster U10G - In2Hockey

The U10 girls had a fantastic time at the Leeds hockey tournament, putting in a great effort across all their matches. They came away with 2 well-earned wins and faced some tough competition in the other 3 games, showing real determination and resilience throughout.
What stood out most was their incredible team spirit – they supported each other, kept their energy high, and never gave up, no matter the score. It was clear they were not only working hard but also truly enjoying the experience, growing in confidence with every game.
A brilliant performance all around and a great day of hockey!

Doncaster U16G T2 v Halifax
9 : 1

On a warm sunny Sunday morning the girls played at home against Halifax in their second match of the re-jigged Upper Tier 2(new year).
The game started with a series of Donny short corners and 9 minutes in the first goal came from Scarlett in a short corner conversion. Success continued from short corner conversions with Izzy L scoring then Ruby. Halifax then claimed a goal from a short corner too. Scarlett scored next from open play then shortly before half time Izzy L scored from another short corner taking the score to 5/1.
In the second half the girls continued to dominate with 4 further goals from open play; Bella, Izzy R, Scarlett(making a hat trick) and Lucia all scoring.
Along with the 6 different goal scorers, Cerys made some excellent saves in goal.
A great team performance from all the girls working together.
Full team; Cerys, Eleanor, Victoria, Izzy B, Grace, Una, Izzy L, Abi, Scarlett, Seana, Sofia, Ruby, Bella, Izzy R and Lucia.
