New Policy Launched

At Doncaster Hockey Club, the safety, wellbeing, and protection of every member, especially our young players and vulnerable adults.

We are pleased to announce the launch of a DHC specific Safeguarding and Child Welfare Policy, which outlines our ongoing commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all involved in our club.

Why This Policy Matters

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Whether you’re a coach, volunteer, player, parent, or committee member, we all have a part to play in ensuring that our club is a place where children and young people feel protected, heard, and empowered.

Our policy is aligned with:

• England Hockey’s Safeguarding & Protecting Young People in Hockey Policy
• National legislation and statutory guidance including the Children Act, Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023), and the Care Act (2014)
• UK GDPR regulations

It is comprehensive, practical, and built around England Hockey’s official safeguarding framework and recommendations.

Key Aims of the Policy

Our Safeguarding and Child Welfare Policy is designed to:

• Promote and prioritise the safety and wellbeing of children and young people
• Provide clear procedures for identifying, responding to, and reporting concerns
• Embed safeguarding in club culture and everyday decision-making

• Photography & imagery, ensuring parental consent and appropriate usage

• Supporting U18s in adult teams, with mentoring and appropriate supervision
