Doncaster 'bossed' the first half.
We had way more of the ball and spent most of the time in their half and around their D. We just couldn’t put the ball away early which is usually just early season cobwebs.
Every single player has clearly improved on last season, that was clear from the start.
We conceded a breakaway goal purely because we were pushing up and lost a little bit of awareness/discipline of their attack.
Shortly after we netted twice, both from Alvi, and then Olly W put us into a 3-1 lead.
We had most of the control in the 2nd half too but feel we tired more than them and they bagged 2 late goals to make it 3-3. Some could argue it was a fair result, but there was beter play from Doncaster on the day.
Some feedback for the young players; keep taking instruction and feedback from the adults. They will always push you harder than in your age group games as development is all about getting you ready for adult hockey at 13yrs onwards. If they ask you to run, defend, get back, go onto your strong side more, pass, please trust us.
