With the final fixtures played on the 21st March, it marks the end of the season not only for the players but the officiating team as well.
Over the season the team of umpires have committed time and effort to ensure that games are played and are managed to the high standard we hold at DHC. Despite the grief the umpires receive each week, they have continued to turn up and allow our players to play hockey.
Over the year, there have been 416 appointments to games from YYHL on Sunday mornings to our First XI’s on Saturday nights! The year has also seen progression for many of our young umpires, inspired by the devoted Max Davidson, to go on to umpire neutral games around the North of England and even an International call up for 16 year old Lucas Henderson.
We are also pleased to reveal the brand-new DHC umpiring shirts that will be showcased for next season’s fixtures, ensuring the professionalism of the umpiring team.
