This was a brilliant ding dong game v Rotherham romping into a 3-1 lead after 15 minutes then losing our shape and at half time 3-3. In the second half end to end action but the team kept its shape with attacks down the right side and some great team passing hockey . Short corner routine to win the game was beautiful to watch and a 6-5 win .

U12 Girls
On a bright and Fresh Sunday morning, the U12 girls' teams took to the field at Chesterfield, to showcase an outstanding display of hockey talent and team spirit. The atmosphere was buoyant, and fuelled by enthusiastic support from the side-lines and a large array of sugary snacks.
From the opening Andy B warm up and short corner practice the girls already had a steely determination. The amazing volunteer coaches took charge of the three teams (Jo Laidlaw team A, Andy Beekie team B and Tim Benson team C) and organised all aspects of the tournament as pitch leads. Their tireless dedication ensured that everything ran smoothly. They truly embodied the spirit of Doncaster Hockey Club, providing brilliant encouragement allowing the players to focus on enjoying the game and giving their best.
No matter which Doncaster team you were watching you saw quick passing, sharp dribbling, and solid teamwork on display as they pressed forward, creating several scoring opportunities. Defenders were impressive, showing resilience during opposition’s attacks and coming up with well-timed tackles and strategic positioning. Midfielders and Forwards showed dominating possession, threading neat passes through to the attackers. This hard work paid off with many well-deserved goals in all teams.

And an extra special mention for the younger Team C from Coach Tim, “For a group of girls who hadn't really played as a team before, I thought each and every one of them were fantastic!”
Whilst all this was going on, the outstanding support from all parents and adults was nothing short of extraordinary. Their cheers and constant encouragement lifted the girls throughout all of their matches, creating a positive and lively atmosphere that echoed around the field. A big thanks from us to you parents…not only do you bring your kids and countless snacks… but you brought energy and showed respect, applauding good plays from both teams.
All of the girls put on a stellar display at Chesterfield, demonstrating not only their individual skill but also an impressive level of teamwork and determination. Every player gave their all, and the quality of hockey on show was exceptional from start to finish. Well done to all the girls that played today—you were amazing, and this performance bodes very well for the rest of the season.
A huge thank you also goes out to the volunteers who were here today, ensuring everything ran smoothly, and to those who coach and support the teams back at the club. Your dedication and commitment make these match days possible and play an invaluable role in their ongoing development.
So, to sum up. 3 teams, 14 matches, 48 scored, 4 conceded.
