Honorary Life Member Mike Cattrall

Lancashire born Mike first came to Doncaster after completing his studies at Leeds Carnegie. He secured the position as Master in Charge of Hockey at Doncaster Grammar School in 1979 and hockey in Doncaster was changed forever.
Mike was integral in the men’s 1st team for the next 15 years including 67 National League appearances, and 2 memorable goals. He also became only the 3rd player to represent the Yorkshire senior side over 100 times, including the county championship win of 1985. He also represented the North of England as well as trialling for the England senior team.
Once his playing career ended, Mike went on to coach the Men’s 1st team, famously steering the team to survival via the relegation play-offs in 1994. He also served as chair of the club.
