Nail Biter!!

Nail biting stuff Saturday as Doncaster ladies put in a battling performance against a resolute and defensively minded Timperley team. After a 9-1 win last week spirits were high and the determination to make it 3 wins from 3 was clear from the outset. Despite a tough to break down opposition the atmosphere was a positive one and the team battled hard against a spirited opposition throughout. With lots of possession and numerous excellent chances on goal Doncaster found themselves 1-0 down through a break away goal. The team spirit was evident as no heads went down and everyone worked for their teammates - 5 minutes to go saw Sarah Thorpe equalise with a lovely reverse strike and a short corner was won just 7 seconds before the final whistle. A well worked short corner culminated in a great deflection from Lauren firth to maintain the 100% record for Doncaster ladies 1's. Well done to the girls and to our amazing army of travelling spectators who kept us going when the going got tough. Roll on the home match versus Sheffield hallam next Saturday at 12.30 - hope to see you there!!
