After a shaky start, Doncaster began to gain the upper hand without making their superiority count in goals. However, shortly before half-time a quick counter attack resulted in Raphi Wilson's shot being deflected past the home goalkeeper.

In the second half Doncaster continued to press but against the run of play Lindum equalised midway through the half. Undeterred, Doncaster immediately went back on the attack and from Wilson's pass Luke Goodwin volleyed home to restore Doncaster's lead.

Doncaster held on to the lead without further alarm to record a hard-earned victory.
