The Pitch and Funding
The decision has been taken to aim for a summer 2018 refurbishment of our atsroturf pitch. We will be applying for funding from the National Hockey Foundation and Sport England amongst others to replace the surface and shock pad, extending them within the current spectator fencing line which we also hope to replace. How much money we get from those applications and the fantastic ideas that are being put into action to raise money in Doncaster will determine what we can actually do.

Finance
To do all that work on the pitch we will need additional minimum funding of around £200k. Sponsorship is an important element of our income and we are pleased to have Kirk Bellerby back working hard on that front. If you know of anybody who would be willing to sponsor us please put them in touch with Kirk. Our men’s and ladies 1st teams are working hard to secure their own sponsorship for the club – please support them.

In order to become more sustainable in years to come, the hockey club needs to find an additional income stream of £15k per year. Please let us know if you can actually do that or contribute to it. There is no shortage of ideas just action to achieve it.

Junior, Ladies and Men’s Section
A mixed few games for our 1st teams with a fantastic result for the men beating top of the table Nottingham University 3-0. Other teams in both the Ladies and Men’s sections have been doing well showing the strength in depth that we have and the influence of our excellent juniors in the senior teams. Where would we be without them.

Josh Oades has taken over as Junior Head Coach – thanks to Josh. We are still looking for a new men’s rep on the committee.

We are also inching our way to our Club Mark registration with England Hockey. This will be an important milestone that will support our applications for future funding and support.
