Key DECISIONS and ACTIONS from the Hockey Club Committee Meet 6 March 2017

Social Events – Tickets are available at the club for:
• Friday 7th April - Junior Awards Presentation evening
• Saturday 8th April - Hockey Club Ball

AGM
The Club’s AGM will be held on the 14 May at the club. A new Club President, currently Steve Ward needs to be elected, alternating from the Men’s to the Ladies section. The Club Chairman, Matt Goodwin, also announced his intention to step down at the end of the season. Nominations for President and Chairman need to be sent to Bev Deakin by the 30 April.

Pitch – Surface replacement and Development
We have returned an England Hockey / Doncaster Council survey about our astroturf pitch. We have used the survey to highlight the playing and training pressures on our facility, indicating the demand for a second pitch arising from our own success, particularly the juniors and continued interest from football teams to hire it,.

Ali West, Junior Coordinator, has volunteered to lead a team to understand the cost of replacing the current pitch surface and any other affordable improvements including a training area at the far end of the pitch. This will enable the Club to work out a plan to meet the funding needs.

Pitch Surface Maintenance – We are continuing to ‘treat’ the pitch to keep algae and moss under control. Sand will be applied fairly shortly to help maintain the surface to a high standard until it is replaced.

Finance - A short note covering the Club’s income and expenditure was approved for distribution to club members to help explain how important it is for everyone to pay their annual subscription and what the money contributes to.

Section Reports –. The first play videoing session will take place on the 12 March as part of a package to support Ladies and Men’s coaches in the development of players. A new Vision, Behaviours, Disciplinary and Disputes Procedure has been approved by the committee and will be posted on the website. The men’s section will hold its annual meeting on the 27 March at 7pm.

Club First – Our EH Club 1st accreditation application will be submitted by the end of the season.

Volunteer Webmaster – We are still looking for a volunteer to run the club’s website which would provide valuable work experience. A new home page is being developed at the moment so it is an exciting time to take on the role.
