Getting prepared for the new season.

Key DECISIONS and ACTIONS from the Hockey Club Committee Meet 7 Aug 2017

Getting Ready For The New Season
The 2017/18 season starts in September just over a month away. Pitch bookings have been sorted and the new fixture booklet is being prepared along with membership forms and associated information. Volunteers are still needed for the Men’s Section representative on the committee and a new Webmaster.

The committee has approved ‘In Play’ coaching videos for 20 men’s and ladies 1st team games throughout the season. Alan Stoves has offered to the use these videos at a general club coaching session on a date to be organised.

Finance
There is still time to get your vote in for ‘Pitch Repairs’ at any Tesco store in Doncaster. The more votes we get the more funding we get. We have already been successful in receiving £500 from the Cash 4 Clubs lottery fund.

The Pitch
Wheels are in motion to plan for the replacement of our pitch surface and possibly create a new training area at the top end of the pitch. Meetings have already been held with England hockey and prospective contractors whilst thoughts are turning to sources of major funding from the Hockey Foundation and Sport England Lottery.

Meanwhile Ken West has taken on the role of maintaining the current surface and surroundings for our hockey Club. He has already made a massive difference to the facility and is working hard to get it into the best of shapes for the start of the season.

Juniors
We are currently advertising for a new Junior Coach. This is a paid role. For further details please contact Bev Deakin.

A new volunteer Junior Coordinator is also required.

Ladies Coach
Gareth Ikin has been appointed as the new first team Ladies Coach. We wish him every success for the coming season.
